DNA Thermal Cycler

Note: The thermal cycle automates the Polymerase Chain Reaction for amplifying DNA.

Note: there is a thermal and electrical danger associated with this device. Do not remove the casing. If a shutdown does occur when the cycler is in use, do not restart for five minutes. Failure to do so will blow out the refrigerator fuse.

Installation

1. The DNA Thermal Cycler will automatically tune itself upon start-up. There is no user services needed.

2. The software package will already be in the machine's accessible memory. See the manufacturer's manual for details about the starting and programming procedures.

Operations

1. Turn the power switch to ON.

2. Access and edit the default files (see manual). Transfer the files you want to run over to programmable memory (i.e. the RAM).

3. Access and edit the programming files. Some models have the option of linking together files in order to make a more complex procedure.

4. Press START after entering a file t start the DNA Thermal Cycler on that file. If the file is linked, it will go from there to other files. To stop the clock press STOP. To abort the run press STOP three times.

Maintenance

1. The only user serviceable part is the printer. For other repairs, call the manufacturer.
