Cleaning of Mullins BL-3 (B44C)

Please fill out checklist and send via email to jmcclure@u.washington.edu

  1. Vacuum floor.

  2. Wet mop floor with 10% bleach.

  3. Clean all handles and control panels with 70% EtOH.

  4. Clean benchtop and sink area with 70% EtOH.

  5. Fill H2O bath.

  6. Fill incubator H2O trays.

  7. Check dI water carboy.

  8. Check 70% EtOH carboy.

  9. Replace biohazard waste bags if 2/3 full or greater.

  10. Empty tip and pipette buckets if more than 1/2 full.

  11. Autoclave all items by door and bag of gowns if full.

    1. Place autoclave tape on each bag.
    2. Place comply strip in each bin.
    3. Record run into log.

  12. Empty autoclave.

    1. Confirm comply strip.
    2. Record run passed and glue into log.
    3. Take autoclaved waste to dumpster.

  13. Record/document your BL-3 maintenance contribution.

    1. Initial, date & comment on sheet on BL3 B44C entry.
    2. Send a copy of the worksheet (filled out) to J. McClure.
