Ethyl ether is considered a suspect
mutagen and it extremely flammable. Its vapor may travel considerable
distance. |

Equipment (PPE) |
Wear chemical-resistant gloves, safety
goggles, and other protective clothing.

Environmental / Ventilation Controls |
Use in the chemical fume hood located
in either 351 or 352 |

Special Handling Procedures & Storage Requirements |
Store in base cabinets of fume hoods
or hazardous chemical storage
room 3rd floor.. Use
only in a fume hood with all sources of ignition eliminated. |

Spill and Accident
Procedures |
In case of contact, immediately flush with copious water
for at least 15 minutes. Cover
the spill with an activated carbon absorbent, take up and place in a closed container,
and transport outdoors. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material
pickup is complete. |

Waste Disposal |
Place in an appropriate container,
label with ÒHazardous Waste LabelÓ and contact EH & S (5-2848) for
collection. |
