a.    If temperature is lower than –150 (i.e. –160 etc), press alarm MUTE button.

b.   If temperature is higher than –150 (i.e. –140 etc), call:

1.    Lisa Rose

                          XXX-XXX-XXXX

2.    Angélique van ‘t Wout

                          XXX-XXX-XXXX

c.    If supply tank is empty, change tanks (see below).

CHANGING LN2 TANKS

To change tanks on the liquid nitrogen freezer, follow these instructions:

a.    Get the adjustable crescent wrench from 344 (in drawer labeled “freeze stuff”).

b.   Close the valve on the empty tank connected to the hose leading to the freezer.

c.    Use the wrench to loosen and remove the flare nut connecting the hose to the empty tank.

d.   With due respect for the high tank pressures involved, wrestle the tanks around to exchange the empty tank for the full tank.

e.    Being careful to match the threads, with your fingertips start the flare nut on the liquid port of the full tank.

f.      Tighten the flare nut with the crescent wrench. Don’t over-tighten; it will jam due to the cold.

g.   Open the liquid port valve on the full tank and press start on the freezer. Listen for the hissing as fresh liquid nitrogen passes through the hose and into the freezer.
